Celebrate Passover with Kosher

Passover is a seven-day holiday of the feast of unleavened bread, with the first and last days celebrated as legal holidays and holy days involving holiday meals, special prayer services, and abstention from work. The Passover holiday is one of the most respected and sacred holidays among the Jews in Isreal because it commemorates the story of the freedom of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

The first night of the Passover Celebration is called Seder. At the Seder, strict dietary laws are observed. However, not just any type of food is eaten because foods eaten at the Sedar symbolize the importance of the Hebrews’ liberation.

At Kosher Market USA, we provide you with foods you can consume at Seder with your family in the comfort of your home, so you don’t have to do any work like the Passover tradition demands. We understand that you may have a tight schedule and not be able to prepare all the ingredients you need to make that sumptuous meal for your loved ones at Seder;

here is a list of important ingredients to not forget when you are shopping:

Eggs

A hard-boiled egg dipped in salt water is used to remember the tears of ancient Israelites and the destruction of the Holy Temple.

Shank bone/ Chicken

The shank bone represents the Pesach sacrifice. The shank bone is roasted lamb shank bone or chicken wing or neck.

Parsley

The parsley plant is the most common vegetable used as Karpas. Karpas symbolizes the initial flourishing of the Israelites during their first years in Egypt.

Chazeret

The Romaine Lettuce is most often used as Chazeret. Chazeret is a bitter herb that represents the harshness and bitterness of the slavery that the Hebrews endured in Egypt.

Charoset

The Charoset combines red wine, chopped apples, and nuts. It is symbolic of the brick-and-mortar the Israelites were forced to work with while still enslaved.

Maror/Horseradish

Horseradish is the second bitter herb on the table and represents the bitterness of slavery that the Hebrews endured.

We recommend Fios Horseradish to suit your needs.
